1. Independent Study and ACE: Do independent study courses count for ACE credit?
They can. The method of delivery does not alter the determination of ACE credit. Students who enroll in College Independent Study open enrollment courses or distance "X" courses will receive credit for an ACE outcome if the root UNL course has been certified for ACE.

2. Honors and ACE: What honors courses count toward ACE credit?
Students and advisers can confirm which honors courses count for ACE credit by consulting the list of ACE-certified courses (ace.unl.edu) or by contacting the University Honors Program. Those 189H and honors courses offered by department (for example History 100H) that have been certified are available on the web with the entire list of ACE-certified courses. Students who arrange by contract to take a course for honors credit will receive credit for an ACE outcome if the non-honors root version of the course is certified for an ACE outcome, assuming they pass the course. Content of the UHON 395H courses varies, and those courses will be certified for specific outcomes on a semester-by-semester basis. A list of these 395H courses will be available on the ACE website with the rest of the list of certified courses.

3. Co-Curricular Experiences and ACE: Can a student earn ACE credit for co-curricular experiences?
Co-Curricular Experiences (including Study Abroad experiences through a UNL approved study abroad) can complete ACE requirements. More information can be found on our ACE Co-Curricular & Study Abroad website.

4. Bulletin Year and ACE: How can a student who matriculated at UNL prior to 2009-10 change bulletins in order to follow the ACE program requirements rather than the CEP (IS/ES) requirements?
Students who are currently on a 2009-2010 or early undergraduate bulletin, and wish to change their bulletin year to 2010-11 in order to follow ACE requirements (rather than the previous CEP IS/ES requirements), should work with their adviser to submit a completed CDMA form to Gail Meyer in Registration & Records.

5. Will courses transfer from community colleges and other four-year institutions?
Yes. Students can transfer credit from other institutions that will satisfy ACE outcomes. For more information on this topic, review the ACE Policy for Transfer Students website.

6. Is there a minimum grade requirement for ACE courses?
The minimum grade requirement for an ACE course is a passing grade. However, some majors or programs do require a minimum grade better than a "D" in order for credit to be earned in a course. Students should check the requirements of their program and speak to their adviser.
